So what is the point of this gif? Are you deliberately trying to get people to be angry? over a fucking phone? I'm angry alright, but over your incessant "hurr durr apple stupid." SHUT UP, PLEASE.
No. I beg to differ.
Apple's constant lies about their "innovation" and their two-faced stance on idea theft was extreme, but $1000 for a stand that should come with the monitor is beyond the pale.
I’ve already covered how this monitor is a professional tool, and cheaply priced for what it is already- but it’s important to note that most pros already have stands and many aren’t plunking a monitor on a desk- a VESA adapter plate- a stupid metal plate- is $200. This is a fully articulated stand that can support a huge monitor but had a relatively elegant and simple design. I wouldn’t pay $1k for it- but I’m also not shopping for $5k and up reference monitors to do professional work with graphics on. Are you? Apple didn’t make it so anyone has to buy their stand. They didn’t even sell it for consumer grade electronics.
So no one needs this thing. Not only do you not need it- but Apple didn’t make the monitor so you need the stand. Not only that but 99.9% of the population doesn’t need and won’t buy a pro grade $5k monitor to start. Yet to so many this is “further evidence” of Apple “fleecing the people..” So many people are obsessed over this that we’re not and likely will never be in the market for a $5000 monitor to start with.
This isn’t a hard concept for all the people who like to stir the pot and just have something to hate on- why are you mad? Were you going to buy this stuff? Android users talking smack about air pods and all that- were you in the market for Apple branded proprietary wireless earbuds to match your Android phone to? Are any of you shopping monitors in the $5k price bracket designed for graphics professionals and not home consumer or hobbyist/amateur use? Apple makes products for a certain type of consumer. They aren’t trying to be android or whoever. Android serves people who want a zillion options and full customization and loads of features with the newest everything. Apple serves people who want something simple, relatively fool proof and reliable, and to not have to worry about having to pick one of a zillion options but just have a couple that work.
Apple's constant lies about their "innovation" and their two-faced stance on idea theft was extreme, but $1000 for a stand that should come with the monitor is beyond the pale.
This well deserved.
