This is based on the erroneous assumption that prayer is a way to control God.
Prayer is designed to connect us to God, and should lead us to change our own minds and hearts.
If we compare God to an omniscient teacher, this becomes clear. If you get a bad test grade and just ask the teacher to change the grade, it's unlikely that it will work. If instead you approach the teacher and say, "I didn't do well on this test we just had. Can you help me study better so I can do better next time?" the teacher is more likely to make extra time for you and tutor you.
Granted, this post is intended to mock religion, but it does a poor job and panders to others who are already ready to mock religion.
