Oh dang! I tried paddling once. My skinny arms could barely fight against a low current. (It was this small river that looped around an island to connect to te ocean)
My advice is to use your entire body when paddling, upper shoulders, core, and legs so you become more efficient and can go farther with less work. Takes time to train your body to do it this way though.
Maybe not a bad idea cost wise, but not sure I would have enough free time to make full use of the membership. I think I'll just need to be patient and save for a nice kayak that I can take out on the water once in a while.
Some clubs let you rent without a membership while others don't. Keep looking until you find one that works for you. My training is going well. My coaches keep giving me something to work so that's good. I'll get to where I want to go eventually but I think I have my 1st coach's respect for not giving up and for working on my opposite side as often as I am.
You need to want someone else to touch em
