There have been a lot of these “wisdom Nuggets” from him recently posted. I felt the same way on the first one I saw- the second I decided I didn’t feel enough and wasn’t bored enough to post based on what he said. I agree 100% with you that not only should we question pearls of pop wisdom- but the source- and in this case knowing the source we sure as Hell should question it- but on examination I can’t find anything inherently wrong here beyond his use of absolutes like “never” which is generally a red flag.
It could be said that his point (I think...) that happiness is a state of mind inherent to us- that when we migrate because we are unhappy, and repeatedly find wherever we go this is true- one constant there is ourselves. In each place we go we bring ourselves and perhaps we need examine that- but scientifically we are not the only constant and shouldn’t assume that we are ultimately the cause of our unhappiness- only that it is possible.
