Are you implying I'm not? Spanish people come from Spain, where most of us are white. Hispanic means from Latin America, where people can be white, black, mixed races, indigenous and other races
I don't know how common this is, but when someone tells me "a Spanish person/person from spain" the environment in my head is someone who is white, but has moorish descent, causing them to appear less white that a french person, for example.
I have never actually been to Spain, and I have no idea how common people of moorish descent actually are in Spain. Nor do I know if that is a common view outside of Spain. I just think that if people envision what I envision, they may not think Spanish people are white at all.
I'm not saying that the view is accurate, or that its okay to dismiss people's existence due to your perception, I just think it's worth pointing out that there are reasons completely unrelated to Hispanic people to think that Spanish people aren't white.
As someone who has actually been to Spain...yes, Spanish people are white. They're darker down South, but still white, and consider themselves to be white. Same goes for Italy.
