Few people had central air when I was a kid. The last recession was hard on housing, but the 70s&80s recessions were harder for blue collar jobs. Every time has its good and bad. The mentality of the individual determines how they weather it
Rise above. Use their weakness to put yourself in a better position to succeed. They can bitch and moan and they please. The meek shall inherit the earth, when the strong are finished with it.
No, not just one post. There's a lot of whinnying on these post that blame the boomers for everything. My comments were for meme. I am from the generation right after the boomers. I use to work around 54 hours a week while in high school, and I maintained A & Bs . I knew a lot of guys that laid on their ass, and some that busted their ass. I went in the service , served in Somalia & Iraq) . When I got home , the crack epidemic was still going strong. The guys that were laying on their asses, mostly are ,dead , homeless, or in prison . A few straightened up. Today, I know a kid ,that's working 7 days a week running 3 vitamin stores and planning to open more. The opportunities are still out there. The fuel shortages of the 70s, with the recession, and the recessions of the 80s , throw in the cold war, and it was more difficult times for a lot of people than today . What I mean by that is the social programs like food stamps and Medicaid were harder for people to qualify for after they
Lost their jobs. The housing market is more fucked up now , than I have ever seen. Individually , people mess up or succeed , not generations as awhile.
I like napping a lot and death is basically the greatest nap so it could fun, maybe.
