I’ve mentioned this on posts where people make stereotypical jokes about the teeth of the British or Japanese before- but it applies here. Funny enough America has some of the worst teeth of any developed country. A very high number of rotten or decayed teeth per capita. In America “dentistry” largely means “cosmetic.” Co feasted to countries like Britain or Japan where people tend to have healthier teeth per capita- but less focus on “white” “straight” things like veneers etc. in recent history much of the US attitudes towards teeth have spread to other countries where traditionally less emphasis was placed on a “Hollywood smile” and cosmetic dentistry has become more common in those countries.
