An incoming call can be ignored, try interacting with people face to face, gets really awkward when you try to ignore them.

That's why I use auto checkout. I need bread, milk and eggs, not a random interaction with a cashier.

How about at work? I try my best to be polite while simultaneously trying to express how little I want to talk to anyone. Very few people seem to get it.
