Interesting commentary.
Because if they truly cover themselves in darkness, it can become real. They can literally force themselves to have mental illness just by willing it/ believing.
Not a good sentiment to encourage. It's all about the clout and nobody gets clout more on tumblr than mentally ill people
As we all know, people with mental illnesses don't have access to the internet. All the Tumblr snowflakes are pretending for fun.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but just because there's someone with more black paint, it doesn't mean people with little black paint don't have it bad. Yes there are asshats pretending to be ill to get pitied (which is close to a very mild form of Münchhausen syndrom btw) but this post dismisses all the people suffering from various illnesses who found a place where they were comfortable being themselves and be honest about their feelings.

Thank you! Honestly these kinds of post kept me from finding help for a long while. I understand it’s a real issue but this way of fighting against it is hurting people too.
Tangent: This picture really hit me. In the context of parent to child, the parent tries so, so hard not to injure their child with their issues and illness, but it’s just there. All the time. Try so hard to scrub it off and keep it to yourself, but it is there.
The kid doesn’t know it’s not healthy or not neurotypical - the crying, the obsessive behaviors, the messiness; it’s just their life. They innocently mirror. All you can do as a parent is try your best; love the kid like crazy, and handle things as well as you can and seek resources. It will be enough. It will be more than enough. Don’t give up.
