there shouldn't be, but the stigma is that teachers paid less, care less, only few actually will care for the education of the students, to them it's been made into a numbers game, get as many through on a passing grade through the year
I judge kids going straight to a university they don't need or won't be able to keep up with much more than I judge people learning a trade, enlisting, or going to a smaller more reasonable school.
I have much more respect for someone that goes to a trade school for a skill they're passionate about, than someone who spends $60k on a communication degree just because "I'm supposed to go to college"
And before the downvotes come in, there's nothing wrong with a non-technical degree if that's what you're actually interested in and want to pursue a career in. Too many people get a degree just for the sake of it, and not because they actually care.
I went to a CC for three years and it was, genuinely, one of the best experiences. It was there that I discovered my love of film and started volunteering. It also helped that I worked a funky schedule and they had classes at all hours of the day.
