I agree with garlog. Not accurate to use that phrase here but I understand the sentiment. But if we want to be literal "treat others how you would like to be treated" he would have helped her because he would probably woukd have liked that. I think eye for an eye applies better. But still, God for him!,

Or, he no longer has any interest in associating with her and is showing her not to bother him any more. Thus, treating her as he wants her to treat him from now on.
