I have rules about spider webs.
1. Must belong to a Daddy long legs.
2. I leave it alone for 2 days and if on the 3rd they didn't catch anything I get rid of it.
3. If something is already caught in the web I leave it alone.
4. If nothing new is in the web after 2 days I get rid of the web.
I once left one for a month because every single day he was catching ants, flys, and nats. Eventually the web was so messed up he himself took it down and started a new. I actually caught him like winding up the web to get rid of it.
I live in Florida. Statistically, you're never more than three feet from a spider. I've known this for several decades. I generally sleep just fine. Household spiders, barring the brown recluse, are generally harmless.
Don’t think about the giant house spiders or the fact that since it doesn’t make webs, you have no way of knowing if there’s one behind you right now. Sleep well :)
