Apparently we're putting too much unnecessary effort into reading time, and that is considered stupid by people who actually have to heat their 2 braincells to comprehend the concept of a 24h day.
It's just a regular 24 hour clock for everyone, Europeans and non-europeans alike.

How about old-school navy and go by bells, every half hour from one bell (1230, 430 and 830) to 8 bells (noon/midnight, 4, and 8). (Not something we did in subs, though)
Why not? Loud clanging noises, reverberating inside a large metal pringles can, submerged hundreds of feet under enemy waters seems like the only logical way to tell time.
