What does Soviet mismanagement have to do with Americans losing nuclear weapons?

Just saying that nobody has any idea how many they lost, so there's no telling how many loose nukes are out there.

That our two gov'ts tend to play with nukes like a child finding his dad's gun. I mean... I think I was pretty obvious about that.

It sounds like a deflection though. Like, "somebody did much worse, so what we did isn't that bad." Comparison is the lowest form of analysis.

Forget deflection, what's scarier than 1 nuke? 4. What's scarier than 4? 5. Scarier than any number? Not knowing what the number actually is.
It's a huge deal that we're gonna pay lip-service to but never actually care about until NYC, Paris, Shanghai, Jerusalem, Moscow, and God knows who else gets blown to hell by non-state actors.
