I think the misunderstanding that’s pretty common on this one is that people think this person designed this chair as some “anti male” thing- or because they want to force men to sit like women. It’s more an “art” thing. The idea is that the way you have to sit on the “male” chair is the way “ladies” were/are supposed to sit. It’s more to make people think and realize the difference in how society frames men and women

The whole “use of space thing” has an important place in gender perception taking up space and being “big,” “noticeable” are traditionally male ways to sit- and discouraged for women. So I know with talk of “manspreading” and all that some people might see this as an attack- but the intent isn’t to focus on men. By having men sit as “women” Nd women sit as “men” there is a subliminal shock at the reversal and the way t changes our perceptions. It’s like performance art.

I keep seeing this but the only spreading I see is women on the bus who take up two seats for their damn purse.
