It is way more irritating in person. Specially, for example, I have had instances when people know I'm knowledgeable on a certain area and still argue their wrong point.
I once spent an hour arguing (and was ridiculed) for claiming a flush (in Poker) is actually worth *something* in-game and even then, in a class of Computer Engineering students, no-one understood that, in Poker, the value of a combination is based on statistical probabilities. It's in the *effing* Poker rules. This was not "The Internet" this was human ignorance on steroids.
