It's about a man who hates his wife, hates his employees especially Manuel (an idiot of a man who John Cleese character truly tries to kill every day), hates his hotel yet takes pride in it but insist on repairs on the place be super cheap, and last the people he hates the most is his own guest and the regulars.
It's almost as if he thinks he is the only one not insane or dumb. But truly he is the craziest one.
I highly suggest watching it. It is pure comedy gold.
It's a character study of the highest order
If you watch it several times, you can see that it highlights the prejudices and immaturities of an English "gentleman"
Fawlty Towers: the origin of the phrase "This hotel would be so much more efficient if it weren't for all these stupid guests". There's no way a show like that would get permission today, so amazingly politically incorrect but still one of the funniest shows ever.
Fawlty Towers is one of my favorite shows. I lost count how many times I have seen the whole show.
