Maybe they can move the tv stand forward a bit to leave some space for him.

On ours, the power button is on the remote. Handy little bugger, really.

Obviously there is a power button on my remote as well, it's just that my remote is sketch AF due to switching brands throughout time. It turns the TV off fine, but trying to turn the TV on? I could, quite easily, be standing there for 5 minutes if I didn't just decide to press the button on the TV itself. It has nothing to do with the batteries, every other button seems to work fine... perhaps it's the circuits? I don't care; it's not worth saving the 3 seconds, even over time.
