Ok unpopular opinion. Both jk Rowling and Martin are better writers than Tolkein. Sure tolkein can build a mythology better than most civilizations can. Not saying tolkein is bad, But as a writer he doesnt flow nearly as well as rowling or martin.

Tolkien is a good creator. He just never let any editor touch his books, which would have helped sooooo much.
