Actually, boiling leftover bones for soup because of poverty (hence the term sopbeen/soup bone) gives the soup extra flavour. The gelatin that comes out is also sticky (Christmas beef roast, super sticky bone on the inside, tastes really nice), and they probably derived it from that. So yes, everything both is (still have broth) and isn't (but poverty) alright at home.
