Uuuummm..... if you’re bleeding during a pregnancy, please see a doctor right away. We are here because for nine months or so our mothers DIDN’T bleed.

Babe, I think it’s because in most cases having a period is a symptom of having a working uterus, which *somewhat* important to procreation. Are you a boy or do you live in Texas?

Well, sort of. Generally human existence requires women menstruate... and yes. Barring laboratory type things and even then ejaculation is is part of the whole thing... but... well... if I had to label one a “self sacrifice for the species” I certainly wouldn’t label orgasms as something men must suffer for all in the name of procreation.
