She doesn’t “deserve it.” The stereotype that “women always wait until he’s got someone else...” is already a falsehood that shows personal issues coming through as a generality to an entire gender. That said- even when people do wait- they may have done it to themselves but that doesn’t mean they deserve it. People, especially young people, get scared or caught up in their heads and perhaps it isn’t until they’re faced with a catalyst that they see forcing them to act now or never that they act. Ultimately we should all try to be more honest and open about our feelings, but sometimes we hold back for other reasons and not telling someone you like them can be more complicated than that.
