I believe we all thought it was funny when it was speculation.
Now that is real for so many young people being deployed, I just think it sucks and admire those willing to risk their life to keep us safe, regardless of what we believe or our political views, right now they have to do it anyways, and we should be appreciative.
My entire family is in or once was in the military. Don’t tell me I don’t understand the risks and loses that will be suffered. I still don’t fully believe we are heading into a ww3 if more stupidity happens by tonight then maybe yeah. but currently if someone reasonable were to talk it out with Iran, and Trump were to be reported for war crimes or another issue, I think we could possibly be in the clear. So until it is an Eminent event I’m gonna make jokes about it
We killed a terrorist. No, scratch that. We killed THE terrorist. Responsible for killing hundreds of Americans and thousands of civilians, including in his own country.
What's Iran going to do about it? Nothing they haven't been doing since '79. Just less effectively.
No. The misguided president of the United States ordered the assassination of a leading member of a foreign nation. This is an act of war. This is an insult to Iran. They have a right to be angry with us. He may have been the worst person since Hitler, but that does not change the fact that he was publicly assassinated by the USA when there was no declaration of war. We can joke about anime girls on fighter jets but at the end of the day we have just destabilized a volatile country and it. Is. Our. Fault.
Declaration of war? Iran has provided aid, training, and comfort to our enemies for decades.
For crying out loud, he attacked the American embassy and an American died. That's an act of war if you think we need one. Nevermind Iran interfering with trade routes, attacking Israel and Saudi Arabia, trading nuclear materials with the DPRK, and, lest you forget, orchestrating attacks on us and our allies for decades.
This fucker is on the same level as Bin Laden, if not lower, and killing him is an even greater tactical and strategic victory. Especially considering the fucker was supposed to be banned from leaving Iran, but was somehow in Iraq, likely passing through Lebanon and/or Syria to get there.
As a bonus, we even managed to catch other terrorist leaders in the blast.
It's a message, kill even one American, especially on American soil, then expect a Hellfire suppository.
They can be as angry as they want when they stop killing us. In the meantime, they've been screaming "Death to America" in the streets for decades and actively worsening every problem in Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, Israel, North Korea, and their own damn country.
Oh no, this move is only good for the US. Killing a major strategic leader prior to continuing hostile operations, in retaliation for a direct attack on American soil and people, is exactly what military's are supposed to do.
You think they haven't come after our leaders?
Yes, they’ve done shitty things, but until congress signs a declaration of war we should in no way be murdering men women and children no matter who they are. If they were to look at us they would have way more reasons to attack than we do. We have been attacking them, their common religion, race, and region for over a decade. Yes, there has been counter attacks and acts of terrorism on their part, but we are the “hero” of the free world. Our actions carry enormous weight and striking out against developing nations when we have not already declared war is moronic and leads a bad example.
Iran is not a developing nation. They're a well established theocratic dictatorship, with infrastructure, government, and systems.
And we didn't hit them. We didn't kill children, and nobody is declaring war. Nobody is going to Iran, and they aren't going to hit us any harder than they've been trying to do already, if that, since we killed the man behind all of those attacks.
General Fuckface was a terrorist committing acts of war against us, while his nation has been playing provocateur for decades. Now he's pieces of what used to be a terrorist, and his nation is going to have a much harder time playing provocateur without him.
Nevermind that POTUS can deploy forces for 90 days without a declaration of war, or any congressional approval beyond military funding, and that the act was carried out in and as part of ongoing operations in the Iraq theater.
If he didn't want to die, he should've heeded his travel ban. And there's no doubt what his objectives were.
And how is sending prayers gonna help??? Are you working for a church? Or did God just raise your quota? "Let get this up to 30 prayers per person this month, human! Or there will be war"
Making memes is how we cope.
join the military, you go to war if it's required, don't go complaining about it, can't handle it, leave. The military really should do psyche evaluations to determine who can handle the stress and who can't.
i realise that, just saying i've seen plenty complain about having to do what they are paid for in the military. my brother was army for 21 years, came out, not damaged, but just a little bent out of shape, he took counselling and is ok now, just bad career choices.
