Its not rape if it is consensual. Plenty of people have “rape fantasies” or “rape play” or enjoy engaging in other forms of sexual expression where one partner “forces” another. That’s where knowing a sexual partner and having communicated expectations and established safe words and boundaries comes in to play. If your partner says “no” and you have sex anyway- you’re RISKING rape unless you KNOW and both understand the dynamic otherwise. It’s an important distinction because the only difference between rape and not rape is consent. Just like a person can “say” yes or not fight back and it can still be rape or assault.
