He is majestic and I'd love the picture even more if he didn't have those STUPID CROPPED EARS. IT'S UNNECESSARY, PAINFUL AND DOESN'T EVEN LOOK GOOD.
.
REPEAT AFTER ME: IF IT'S NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY - DON'T CROP EARS OR TAILS, DON'T DEBARK YOUR DOG, DON'T DECLAW YOUR CAT, DON'T REMOVE YOUR SKUNK'S SCENT GLANDS, DON'T REMOVE YOUR SCORPIONS STINGER.

His ears aren’t cropped.... cropped typically means the cutting of the ear while his are just fully erect. Not all Great Danes will have that style of ear, but it’s also not impossible for it to be natural. My baby is a mix and his ears stand up half way normally and look like the above when on alert. There’s a thing some dog owners will do when they are pups where they put casts on the ears to “straighten” them which won’t hurt the dog (but is pretty unnecessary for everything but aesthetics and only very occasionally is it for health)
Tldr: they’re not “cropped” just erect, which may be natural in his case, and if not it likely didn’t hurt him to get that style of ear. My expertise: my dogs and countless hours on Dogs 101.
Uhm. Yours is a mix. A purebred great Dane has floppy ears. Just Google great Dane natural vs cropped ears. These ones are definetily cropped. 100%. There's a lot of ear missing.
Source: cropping ears is illegal where I live and I've seen quite a few great Danes. They all have floppy ears here. I never even knew ear cropping was a thing until I've seen great Danes from America.
