I mean... I don’t think so? Obviously this is targeted specifically at those who believe the country is or should be a Christian nation, especially those who oppose social welfare and or foreign aid and general humanitarianism. But we aren’t a Christian nation and never were supposed to be. The framework of our country was heavily influenced by Christian thought, but was built on the principal of freedom.
And while this is specifically targeted to Christians , they aren’t the only group who needs the message- who is guilty of holding up lofty ideas but ultimately just need to either commit to their principals or admit that it isn’t about nobility, but about self serving actions wrapped in a blanket of supposedly altruistic idealism.
The fundamental fact that we seem to forget and ignore is that the one immutable principal- the singular aspect of the American system that is not designed to be pliable based on the needs or spirit of changing times- is a core concept of liberty, freedom, and opportunity. Ultimately these values prize enabling above helping.
