There's a joint at the end of the straw, so instead of taking a drink, he's taking a hit.

I wonder what drugs people would have to do to see anyone sucking on that straw and exhaling a cloud of weed smoke and think "yup, that looks legit". I know exactly what drugs the people did who had the idea in the first place though...
