I think each trilogy is about equal honestly. There's hammy acting, cheesy dialogue, and the occasional weak effect in every movie. They're just fun sci-fi
Nah, the OG trilogy wins because of one small reason: A New Hope is a textbook worthy example of "The Hero's Journey". I mean, literally, textbook; it's used as in example in schools across the world.
It's kind of like Romeo and Juliet. That's not even a top 10 of Shakespeare, but it fits the mold of what it is so perfectly there is a valid reason it's used as the primary example.
Side note: Shakespeare's best work is "The Phoenix and the Turtle". Fight me o_O
Nah. RoS ruined it for me. There were concepts I liked, but the execution of it ruined it for me... everything about Palpatine in particular. The ressurection concept was totally fine and made sense, especially given "The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis", but... my god, what a trainwreck the execution was. It wasn't even the clone part... it was the visualization and the sheer stupidity of that Sith temple... like why the fuck does he need this 400 ft arm thing... the pneumatics of that shit alone are flabbergasting, even by Star Wars standards.
