The first 3 Harry Potter computer games were so brilliant I introduced my niece to them. EA used to be really good.

No lie. Before everything going online and micro-transactions, EA was the shit. IT WAS IN THE FUCKING GAME!

Maybe not kids today, but their kids won't believe EA was an evil supergiant and most licensed titles games were terrible. We are in a bad place, but we will improve. Unless the game industry completely dies due to apocalyptic conditions caused by killing the environment. In which case EA will probably never exist again.

things are going to get worse before they get better. many governments are taking notice of the gaming industry and if it suddenly goes from being 99% unregulated to the most regulated industry in world there'll be a section of time when no games are coming out and a lot of companies shut down.

That's probably true. But so long as there are still people left in a active economy it will come back out better in the long run. It's going to be a rough journey though, for sure.
