Then how would the elderly Medicare leeches keep the politicians that they want in charge if it’s equally convenient for everyone to vote?

Fear not! There is still voter misinformation and polling place shenanigans or ID and registration tricks to use to disenfranchise voters. If that fails- gerrymandering, creative districting, and like tools still allow the entrenched to make it so that even if you vote- your vote will be counted but will not matter. If all else fails- the electoral college makes sure that if the people happen to choose the “wrong” candidate- the “right” one will still take the office. A perfect and elegant system. By (some of) the people, for (some of) the people. But the very act of registering to vote provides funds for a political party- so at least you can rest assured that even if your vote serves more like an “active daily user count” than a way to have a say- that it at least supports and continues this very system.

Kind of fucked that it’s not a national holiday in America, along with other smaller voting dates.
