Lol cloacal spurs. They're two small little spikes on either side of the cloaca (for all intents and purposes the area where snakes expel poop etc and mate). As far as I know most snake species have them but I forgot they were a thing one night and just saw part of her sticking out in a manner that looked extremely awful compared to the rest of her scales. It was actually fine but gave me a fright
Yes they usually do that, you often don't even get to see the shed. But right now, he's separated from his girls, in a little Terrarium with paper towel, because he got so territorial over his wives that he wouldn't sleep anymore and didn't wanna eat, always looking out for rivals haha. Standing, 24/7. So yeah, I separated him, and yesterday he was SO loud and making a mess in his cave, pulling in the paper towel and even moving the cave that I had to look what's up, and he was in the middle of his shed. :D
So I just held a little piece of the shed and he walked away, pulling of almost all of it at once.
Haha males particularly of reptiles seem to have it so rough. They freak out so hard when it comes to females. Poor little guy. At least he relaxed enough to get rid of that old skin haha
.
I usually know when my snek is on it's way to shed (if I don't see her in blue) because she barely moves 90% of the time and then one night it will suddenly be like someone's attempting a break in.
Well yeah I mean leopard gecks don't move a helluva lot in the first place :D
They also get quite white before shedding but often you don't see it cause they're hiding.
And yes, I took the shed as a good sign :)
Also it was kind of cute when we found out why he stopped eating. So protective haha.
Look, my snake grew a hand!
