Yep.
.
For all the news rants about the virus 24/7 they've failed spectacularly to address the animal side of things.
.
A lot of animals have been abandoned and/or some rescues have been shut down.
.
Animals have been separated or trapped because of the lockdowns (people are begging for anyone to find and feed their missing pets if they can).
.
Because everyone is in quarantine in a lot of cities the shops and restaurants are closed. Strays relied on them for food and now they have nowhere to go and are starving to death and attacking each other in the streets.
.
Shelters are begging people to consider fostering during this crisis.
.
People are also buying masks for their dogs which is weird but at least their hearts are in the right place
As I understand it the mask don't protect you, it protects the people around you, so wearing one if you aren't sick is a waste of a mask.
Also, most of that doesn't seem particularly crazy.
Instead people are:
-Panic buying all the toilet paper to fight a respiratory illness and price gouge
.
-Flooding the sewage systems with newspaper and wipes, causing HUGE sewage floods into peoples' homes
.
-Wearing plastic bags over their heads, which can not only be easily contaminated but also lead to suffocation (and if you pass out from being an idiot you are, shockingly, NOT a high priority for medical aid)
.
-Attacking anyone who is asian
.
-Going through so many face masks the hospitals are having to get them from TV shows so that the healthcare workers have half a hope in hell of helping the idiots using up all their medical supplies.
.
-Having to be limited in the AMOUNT of toilet paper they can buy (again: respiratory illness), AND being told they will NOT be allowed to return their toilet paper at a later date
.
-Being BEGGED not to abandon their pets in the streets when their pets could never even get the virus in the first place
-People aren't buying toilet paper to fight the virus, obviously.
.
-Yes, panic buying is bad and selfish, but not insane. There's an obvious rationality to it, as detrimental as it is.
.
-Presumably, the bags might help like those plastic face-shields heath care workers use, there's at least a rational idea there. If you suffocate from it I agree with you though. The guy in the pink stuff looks very stupid.
.
-Is this happening to any great extent? Definitely on the insane side of things if it is
.
-I agree, but this is obviously an easy mistake as a result of ignorance, not insanity.
.
-Same as the second point.
.
-Haven't actually heard of this happening much, but still seems more like general ignorance rather than a lack of reason and rationality. Could be, though.
Oh fuck
