You're essentially paying for something that could potentially be trash, meaning a game doesnt have to have effort put into, so long as the advertising is good it'll sell for millions
ok, so you don't preorder, buy it, find out it's trash anyway, no difference. It's how they get funding for it. Has there been an example of a preorder that had corners cut and turned out to be bad?
I also wanted to add pokemon sword and shield but most people KNEW that game was gonna suck, but mindless fans bought it all up anyway.
(side note: if anyone on here likes SWSH, thats great, I own the game too and its fine, but compared to other nintendo games of the time and even older pokemon games I just really dont like it)
You wait for people to get it and review it first (most likely early access)
And then buy it

I only pre-order games that are from devs that actually give a shit about the quality of the game and the users, even then i have to be 100% convinced that i will enjoy the game
