Well, he doesn't believe mirrors are real, so he probably never uses one.

You know how a lot of people reach this place where they are a certain age and just say: “fuck everyone- I’m going to do what makes me happy”? For child celebrities that isn’t in their 30’s or their 60’s like it is for many- because they’ve already put up with the BS of literally millions of people. But there’s more to it- money already isolates people from “the real world”, the more you have- the more isolated you tend to be able to be.

If you have literally no money, not even a concept of money- you are 100% in the “real world” outside of society but still living on a planet with it- like a squirrel or a bird- you’re not participating but it can still screw you up or provide scraps and opportunities. If you’re “richest in the world” rich- you can pretty much literally create your own world- make an island and within the laws of physics- have what you want and have people behave exactly as you want and do what you want.

Add to that the life of a celebrity isn’t really relatable to “real life” and a child who spent their developing years being in an environment unlike most people, isolated from reality to an extent beyond most people, and with the security, freedom- access, and power on levels most kids don’t get- and you’re very unlikely to come out like “most people” unless you have the right person who gets you helping to navigate you through it all and care for your well being and development.

.... and... many child celebrities don’t have that because.... working ones are commodities. Many adults but especially celebrities where it is dialed up past 11 have trouble forcing themselves into the mound they need to be in for success. Cultivating and keeping an “image” and managing public perceptions and all that is hugely stressful and confusing for people who e had a chance to figure out their self identity let alone those developing one. The pressures and demands to look and act certain ways take their toll. And in cases like Jaden Smith- having a rich and accommodating family doesn’t do much better because...

As we covered- money and power let you do things most people can’t. When you aren’t so preoccupied with needing to conform to social standards to survive and know, or believe, that you can take care of yourself for a lifetime on yours or your families money alone- you can be whoever you want for better or for worse. The adversity and challenges that help us grow and learn are largely absent.

Sure- people can “put you in check-“ but by and large with the power of financial freedom nothing makes us listen. We can “fire” or cut off people who give harsh truths we do not care to hear or who disagree.

So first world problems and all that- but child celebrities and legacy kids have problems and stress too. Different from most- but when you aren’t used to imperative problems of survival- more trivial issues are the deepest sorrows you know which- the deepest sadness a person knows is still deep to them. The pain that could make some tough types cry is enough to knock someone else unconscious, and what would make you cry may just be like an itch or a paper cut to them. Perception is relative.

But in the end- having the financial freedom to do what you want, having an unconventional childhood, having lived your entire life you can remember under intense pressure and scrutiny, the feelings of lack of consequence money and privilege often bring, and being free to your every whim just about- can lead down all sorts of roads.

Tl:dr- these guys have lived their lives in front of the world since likely just about as far back as they can remember. Most of their lives. They didn’t have “normal childhoods” and were faced simultaneously with adult problems and responsibilities/restrictions; AND a freedom and power most kids don’t get. Now they are both “free” largely of the life lived for others- and so they dive into themselves in different ways- trying to find themselves even if they don’t realize it.
