Maybe. I don't know enough about the case. I read a bit about the accusations and the backstory. If she was being threatened into silence and did try to come forward long ago, than that is deplorable, and the people responsible should be rounded up and thrown in prison.
.
I just really hope there's some evidence one way or the other. If he's guilty, than he deserves to be convicted. If she's lying, than she deserves to be convicted, and he deserves redemption.

It's just far too easy to destroy peoples' lives with accusations alone these days
Yes I agree. I have heard about this case long time ago and have seen probably every scientology special.amd documentary about it (and other cults, idk I'm intrigued) but yeah some cases, specially recent ones I'm skeptical. The me too movement was necessary, but then people abused it. As usual.
I don't think people realize how absolutely out of control it's gotten. Especially since quarantine started.

There's literally women coming out of the wood work going "THIS MAN IS A PREDATOR!" And you ask what happened and then the story turns out to be "7 years ago I was at a party and he said hello to me and complimented my dress and now I'm a rape victim, DESTROY HIS LIFE."
.
I don't really understand how many more times it has to happen before people say "enough" and actually start standing up against these people. How many lives have to be destroyed in that manner before people - women especially - say "no, this is not okay."
Yea, while I still believe it was necessary, basically no women was taken seriously and that needed to change, but now it's an overcorrection. And that happens a lot with a lot of topics. But for example a case I always saw as unfair was aziz Ansari. As soon as the girl mentioned it to him he apologized and was accountable and hopefully learned from it, so why didnshe feel the need to make it public to "cancel him"? You want this guys to changez be accountable, and learn. Also even loiu ck he immediately was accountable and acknowledged his mistakes. Now if the guy continues to be a pig yes by all means cancel him.
we shouldn't fucking care about this shit until there is a verdict. That's how the system is supposed to work. Everyone is all pissed off that cops treat all black men like criminals but no one seems to care that EVERYONE treats celebrities like criminals.
