We don’t want to pay for healthcare for moms to have babies. We don’t want to pay to take care of babies parents can’t or won’t. Most people don’t want forced sterilization and government licensing or quotas on having babies... once a fetus is made it is too late for “you shouldn’t have babies if you can’t care for them...” I mean-
What is the plan there? Throw parents in jail who have kids they can’t or won’t care for? Then we are back to having to pay for the kids and we are paying to keep and feed the parents too no? Fine the parents? Ok. And then they have less money to care for their kids, and if they can’t or won’t pay the fines... what then? We throw them in jail? Repeat sentence 3?
I’ve got very bad news for you. Abortion goes beyond moral debate- it is a practical debate. Wether one believes it is wrong to kill, however we define murder or what is or isn’t alive or human or sentient- we as a society kill when it is practical. We obviously kill animals- animals that can think and feel where a fetus cannot. But those aren’t human right? But we kill humans. We execute criminals, police shoot suspects and dangerous people and sometimes innocent people. People like you and I get in our cars and kill people every day. We let people die because they can’t afford to live. We send our military to kill people to safeguard our economic and politic needs. So even IF we all want to agree that abortion is murder- so what? As a society we allow ordered and codified termination of life when and where we see it as serving a practical good for society.
When the domestic adoption rate reaches 99% and we don’t have babies and children and young adults who never make it to a permanent home- I will gladly agree to hear out the proposals to outlaw non medically necessary abortions- provided that any such proposal stipulates that its supporters will agree to a lottery system of adoption in which the unwanted babies and hospital bills related are taken on by them. Until such a time as these conditions are met- all I hear is “wah wah wah. I don’t like this. It makes me sad.” The vegans have been saying that for years about my delicious burgers too- and I think cows are adorable. Still eating beef.
We now have documented proof of what people have alleged and suspected for some time. The worlds political and economic leaders are engaging in or complicit in massive and organized sex trafficking, pedophilia, rape, sexual assaults and misconduct. Much of this has been blatant and largely in the open. We have seen police officers murdering unarmed and even compliant citizens in the street. There are bigger fish to fry at the moment, there are certainly more practical concerns than moral and philosophical masturbation over the scientifically recognized fact that an early term fetus lacks the ability to process information on a human level and is the potential for a human being- but not a guarantee
"some scrambled eggs with a heart beat"?? I wish you hadn't phrased it like that, it was very sickening wording. I have suffered 2 miscarriages, and I love my "scrambled eggs with a heart beat" just as much as I love my living 5-year-old daughter. To the baby, to God, to me, to family and friends, to people who care, there is nothing in this world more important than some scrambled eggs with a heart beat.
I apologize for offending you and am sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I was referring to a terminated pregnancy and not a miscarriage- I did not mean for there to be a parallel between them, but I can see how one would equate them. Regardless- it was intensive as of the many women I know who have voluntarily terminated pregnancy- none were unaffected by the decision.
The overall point being that a fetus is the potential for a baby- as many unfortunately know first hand. Any burden to bear when a fetus is not brought to term lies on the shoulders of the living, the fetus itself being fortunately spared any suffering or consciousness of its own existence. It’s a heavy burden for those left behind no matter if they chose to terminate or of that was simply out of their control. It was insensitive to use that phrasing and I am sorry.
Have any of ya heard of that church in Korea where they all shared a "holy water mouth spray" so God would protect them?
Guess what? They all got infected!
God sure works in a mysterious way doesn't he

God: Mmmh what a bunch of idiots, I'm about to flood them again... Oh no, not enough water left! Wait...
