June 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down all state bans on same-sex marriage, legalized it in all fifty states, and required states to honor out-of-state same-sex marriage licenses in the case Obergefell v. Hodges.

Trump is the guy who banned trans in the military.
He banned transitioning and transitioned people in the military due to their specialized medical needs, and is otherwise is fully supportive of the lgbt.
Said specialized needs would be neglected or cost a lot of money, so he’s either saving them hormonal problems or the taxpayer a lot of money. Considering the incredibly small number of trans people that want to join the military, it would not be cost-effective, and if they go without, that causes a lot of issues that you don’t want in a combat zone. I’m fairly certain trans people can still join for domestic positions, though.
@skybirds15 That may be except that there's already trans people in the military and have been for a long time and they're being denied medical treatment. This is just the don't-ask-don't-tell policy of our time.
Also, I'm pretty sure amputations cost a lot more.
They are only being denied elective medical treatment- I.e. transition surgery in this case. Any post-op transgender people already in the military were grandfathered in and stayed in the military. Pre-op transgender people can still join as well, so it’s only for medical reasons.
Amputations do not cost a lot to perform. They cost a lot afterwards for prosthetics and therapy, but the actual surgery is pretty easy.
