Or thinking about the insurance uptick on destroying the rental

Could be the opposite. I’ve had a few incidents while a significant other was in the car, not a fire, but I have been hit, had tires blow out, and had an engine blow while the SO was riding along. In most all cases- they were more upset and or morose and or concerned than I was.

The SO had never been in a car where the motor blew, let alone ever had to replace a motor on a car (she just buys a new car if the old one needs anything major.) I grew up racing and tinkering, and planned to put a better engine in that car anyway, so usually when something goes wrong with my cars I’m not too upset- it’s an excuse to do something better or different. If it were my friends car I borrowed- I HATE when something goes wrong.

Then I’d look more like the guy in the photo. I’ve got to spend my time and money to fix someone else’s stuff instead of working on mine- and worse, I don’t believe factors should be an inconvenience, and when you borrow something you should return it better than you got it. So if the car was borrowed I’d be very upset.

It’s that time he spent with Lindsay Lohan. She had a real bad influence on the poor guy. The next time he went to Montecarlo it wasn’t for a race, he had 46 kilos in his boot and got nicked by the police. It was all a downwards spiral from there. I choose to remember him as he was.
