Y’all... fake meat has come a long way and is super helpful to avoid greenhouse gases as well as benefit you as much as eating meat and even more. There’s a video on YouTube titled Feeding Bill Gates a fake burger to save the world

For the record, it is highly debatable wether or not “fake meat” is better for your health, or the environment. Most studies on the subject are small scale or industry led. Marco Springman, A senior Oxford researcher for their project on sustainable future foods for humanity wrote a very good paper on the subject as have others.
Health wise, “fake meat” is quite often higher in things like sodium even if it is lower calorie and lower cholesterol. It’s also important to note that “lower calorie” doesn’t necessarily mean healthier- nutrient dense foods that can provide ones daily values with less food material have certain benefits, it’s all contextual. “Fake meats” are also a generally highly processed food.
For the environment, “fake meat” and cell meat (meat grown from a single cell without harm to the animal, and with no organs, brain, etc-) both boast emissions numbers similar to real meat production when accounting for end to end processes, required chemicals and etc. “fake meat” does theoretically boast a vastly reduced cost in water over raising an animal- but that again needs more verification by independent study. The general consensus is that “whole foods” such as just plain old grains, vegetables, and such, without processing, are going to be the healthiest and most environmentally friendly option of “traditional diets” with things like insect based foods or certain types of fungus, mold, and algae being looked at as well.
