That's the joke. There were people dying from all kinds of causes being marked down as death by corona.

I get the joke... It's kind of hard to tell if it's coming from ignorance or understanding though.

Their cause of death was not solely placed on COVID though it would say due to complications of X and COVID. My uncle was declared dead due to complications of his ongoing struggle with HIV and COVID-19.
