you should have. if a restaurant wants to appear hip by using QR codes instead of just displaying the menu like normal, they will alienate a lot of their customers. Those that don't know how to use QR, and those that think it's ridiculous.
It's making your business which is open for all who have money limited to those with the technology. I have no use for a QR Scanner. I never have until then. I did end up walking because their prices were also very high.
Just a heads up, you don't actually need a QR scanner. As long as the OS on your phone is recent within a couple years, you should just be able to point your camera app at the code and receive a prompt.
Y'all do realize there's a pandemic going on, and the point of having a QR on the wall / table / wherever is so that you can get the menu without having a physical copy of the menu (which gets passed to customer after customer after customer).
It's not restaurants trying to be 'hip', it's restaurant using technology to find solution to sanitary problems during a health crisis...
Get off your 'customer is always right' high horse, they are doing what they can to survive tough times.
Or maybe they could wipe the laminated menus down properly between customers as they should be instead of paying extra money to get that all set up? Also, chill on the offense there. None of us has been rude to you. You can show us the same courtesy.
In Spain most places do the QR code, but if you ask them they will give you a normal menu. It's just due to covid restrictions and not needing to clean all menus daily
