Alright so first thing of note:
This happened in 2017
.
Apparently this guy was hospitalized because he had what I assume is the French equivalent of a night stick jammed up his anus to the point he was "covered in blood" and the incident "required major emergency surgery to repair."
.
The guy (Theo) claims that he approached the officers after he saw them slap someone. The police claim Theo was resisting arrest.
.
Theo says he was handcuffed, told to get on the ground, at which point the police sprayed his face with tear-gas, pulled down his pants, and forced the baton in his anus. The police claim he was tear-gased because he was resisting, that his pants fell down during the scuffle, and the baton just "slipped" into his anus.
Supposedly there is footage that indicates that Theo did get violent with the officers, but it's unclear who started it.
.
France's police force "investigated" the incident and determined that it wasn't a rape because of the "accidental nature" of the assault.
.
Despite this the officers wee suspended, and I believe 3 of them at least (out of 4) were charged, one of them with rape. I have no idea what the outcome of those charges was.
.
The incident resulted in riots, attacks on police departments, cars being set on fire, etc.
I was curious and tried to find out the diameter of the average telescopic police baton. The best that I could do is determine that they are often 1.5 inches in diameter, however this is at the handle. Telescopic batons get thinner toward the business end, which I assume is what was used.
.
Either way the baton was reportedly shoved at least 10cm in the guy's anus. And who among us hasn't at some point in our lives accidentally shoved something 4 inches up a violent stranger's rectum.
.
Could happen to anyone. Really.
I stayed awake long enough to make sure any damage done was mitigated, then took a snooze and woke up clear headed. My body is killing me, but my brain is fine.
Meh.. at like 4AM and with the bill I'd receive when I know it wasn't that bad?
And honestly, besides sit there and watch me sitting there what the fuck could they even do?
