Father of bride stopped walking halfway and brought his daughter's stepfather to walk the rest because his Fitbit said he had walked his scheduled distance for the day.

I think it’s sweet. My only wonder is... is it what the bride wanted? Because while it’s cool to involve the stepdad and all.... it seems spontaneous and that makes me wonder if it was planned and staged to look that way, if it was discussed by the bridal party and decided they’d do it as a surprise to the stepdad, or if the dad just decided all on his own that the stepdad should be there too. I mean- the bride and dad could have decided it on the spot walking- unlikely but possible. The dad could have known the bride was feeling a certain way but for whatever reason- maybe because she thought the dad would be against it or hurt by it- not said so; and the dad acted on that.
Or the dad could have been against it and the daughter cut the stepdad because of that- and then the dad changed his mind last minute. A lot of things. But I see it and I wonder: did the bride know that was going to happen and was it what she wanted for her wedding? I suppose we could argue that if the dad paid for all or most of the wedding- he could technically do whatever he wanted. Although that somewhat makes the wedding and his throwing less about the bride and groom and more about him or about other family members. But- it seems sweet epithet way. Just a thought I had when I saw it.
