I wouldn’t because we need population to maintain the current society.
Now, if you asked if i could move the higher intelligent people to live on Mars, I’m all for it
No. And IQ on what scale? There is more than one you know? creativedragonbaby already points out that losing even the conservative 30% (and depending on other factors it could go up to 80% or higher...) of population would effectively decimate the worlds ability to function.
But asides their basic right to exist- I have to point out a couple big “nos” for me.
1. IQ doesn’t measure loyalty, dependability, generosity, empathy, selflessness or kindness or morality. I’d say that for societies long term survival and ability to grow and flourish- it’s more important to have good quality people who work well together and take care of each other than to have the most intelligent people.
2. I asked what scale you’re using to measure IQ- the next question is... IQ measured how? By who? When? IQ gets are questionably accurate to start- but they become MUCH less age when taken after early childhood. IQ can somewhat be said to be more a measure of adaptability, deduction, logical inference- than it is a measure of “raw smarts.” The older you are the more experience you have to rely on.
Think of it this way- memorizing the multiplication tables doesn’t teach you how to multiply. Many animals can be taught to remember and recall things. Memorization isn’t the same thing as deduction. The processes used to memorize aren’t the same as the ones used to solve problems. Being able to quickly perform the operations to determine the answer for 6x7 takes skill and “brain power” as opposed to simply recalling something you memorized. The older you are, the more you have seen things and encountered things and had opportunity to remember things. Your experiences with similar problems to one you are trying to solve often give you solutions as opposed to you having to come up with a novel (to you) solution based on theory.
Think of it like this- Newton is largely credited as “discovering” gravity. Most kids are aware of gravity and many of its broad strokes by the time they are out of primary school. It isn’t the same being a person who has to figure a thing out without basically having someone else to tell them it. So there would be a serious question as to how we were going to measure that IQ. Because a person who takes an IQ test when very young and scored below a 115- could take that same test at an older age like adulthood and score 115 or higher. So are they a keeper or a dumper? They are over 115 on the test- but they would t be 115 without experience. So do you want them in society or not?
And at the end of the day- asides IQ not determining attributes like how good of a person you are or how much you contribute to societies benefit- on that same vein... having a high IQ doesn’t make you “smart.” It gives you a potential to be very clever, intelligent, etc. but if you don’t or can’t use it- having been through the gifted schooling programs and through selection processes for competitive endeavors that only want “the best...” I’ve known my share of actual geniuses, and among them have been some total burnouts who literally did nothing with their potential.
So I mean.... IQ is just a number. I think it would be foolish of anyone to judge a random and unknown person solely on their IQ score. But that’s the point isn’t it? I’m sure plenty of people with high IQ’s or who are otherwise considered intelligent- would think this was a good idea. And having a high IQ doesn’t make you immune from being foolish or not thinking things through. In fact- some people with high IQ’s are very narrow in focus.
And something else to note is that IQ doesn't cover for career-specific knowledge. A farmer may not rate high on an IQ test, but they're the only one for miles around that knows how to trim horse hooves
They're suicidal anyways
