But they don't come into contact with the public. What about more important hazard pay for the retail workers who actually have to help customers face to face

ah yes, even tho they are crammed into a warhouse with eachother with multiple protests happening to get more infection prevention measures put in place, the people working in amazon warehouses dont count as "the public" therefor they cant spread the virus to each other. Not like people could catch it from somewhere else like the grocery store, be asymptomatic during incubation as per normal for covid, and spread it to everyone else on their 12 hour shift and risk spreading it to the next shift during shift change.

Their warehouses are so large (roughly 1,000,000 sq/ft) that most employees dont interact. Plus each warehouse only uses ~600-800 employees per shift. All employees are required to get their temperature taken before shift, there are handwashing stations and masks for everybody along with plexiglas walls where some workers work close together. Also I can't find any recent protests for safety (last one was April 24th) so if you could link that to me so if I'm wrong I can learn something that would be great :D

I agree with the creepy guy, just because you're working, doesn't mean you get "hazard pay", the other option is don't work, they'll hire someone else

An unfortunately true fact of the world of modern convenience is that Amazon would rather you quit or get fired than admit any of their workers deserve extra pay for working and keeping the company working during a pandemic. Hell, they were doing it before and have no reason to change their stance now.

people know what the salary is before getting the job, takes a special kind of person to get a job and then demand a higher pay

the whole point of hazard pay is that something changed about the job causing it to be more dangerous to continue doing. A pandemic definitely counts.

say 80,000 people get paid $10, and work 20 hours a week, that's $16 million a week in salary, of course, if you want to pay higher costs for things, be my guest

I think they should get hazard pay too but my roommate actually works for them . You have to be tested everyday to be able to go into work and if you dont get a negative test, you're sent home for 2 weeks with pay. Not the best they could do but not the worst.
