Not exactly
Work is manic atm; I don't feel like I'm performing as efficiently as I could be and my boss could be better at communicating with me, as well as saying to the higher-ups that our department is already at max capacity for workload
My posture isn't great, meaning my back can be uncomfortable at times, although I can fix this with time I think
I've also put on weight as I've been eating more unhealthily recently, although I can also remedy this
Lockdown sucks and I'm pretty bored and lonely, but that's the same for a lot of people - I'm not special in that regard
On the plus side, I've hit my savings target for this year a month ahead of schedule so that's nice
My dad straight up admitted to be disappointed in me because I'm not interested in getting a phd and keeps throwing weird arguments to persuade me to get one, it reminds me how I was always "the smart kid" no one really cared about and I subsequently cried so hard I pulled a muscle in my back. So I'd say I have room for improvement.
Psst, some pro advice: get job experience before doing a PhD. Only after I started working I actually started understanding things better regarding postgraduate studies and the deeper, more tricky mechanisms thereof (not only the PhD itself but also the field of study and applications therein).

On "the gifted child who was never good enough" I can empathize with you. It's like you're a lil puppet dancing to their expectations with no real regard for who you are and what you want.
.
As to PhD, not sure if it's the same with your country but in ZA it is advised that you should only do a PhD if you are planning to go into academia or research. Otherwise you are overqualified and you can't get a job since they'll rather hire a Master's student.
