This is why the thought of interacting with big cats I find unnerving. No matter how "tame" or "adjusted" it might be... it's not that it is still a wild creature, it's that it is still a cat.
I still might take my chances with a cheatah though.
I know of a guy who runs a shelter for abandoned and abused big cats. Some of them he’s raised since before weaning... and he STILL only interacts with them through a fence after they’re six months old or so (depending on species). He says they have about the emotional maturity of a three-year-old and tantrums are scary.
