I was at a Christmas lunch a few years ago, with family and an elderly couple I didn't know - friends of friends or something, must've been in their 80s. The old man was just about deaf and didn't contribute much to the conversation, but within about 15 minutes his wife was blithely telling us about having been gang raped when she was younger. I think she might have had dementia or something and the whole thing might have been in her head, but it's pretty bracing to hear stuff like that from the mouth a sweet, little old lady!
Not to make this political, but similar stories while growing up are what convinced me that gun rights are woman's rights.
Also why when someone confesses something illegal to me, I'm more likely to ask "Why?" than I am to call the police.
Listen, we've ALL assisted on a "suicide" by some means or another, its just that some are more active in participation. I recall one man whom burned to death in his bed, obviously drunk with lit kerosene lamp broken over his head just a few hours after we (VFD & ambulance) took his wife to hospital due to "accidental stabbing". Clearly trying to keep warm in that frigid old house. It was July so the AC was really cranked up. Wife's brother was so upset about it, had to drive him home. Sheriff's office ruled "accident".
