Banning books should never be allowed the one and only caveat being books of a sexual nature shouldn't be given to children. It is much better to have open discussion about a book than to just ban it. How can anyone expect to argue a point if they're unable to know what the opposite opinion is? Mandated ignorance has been a tool used for centuries to control the masses and should be fought wherever it's found. Good for this person. Plus I think everyone should read a whole lot more; minimum 2-3 books, or the equivalent thereof, a week.
Books that can be deemed educational, even historical fiction, should never be banned under any circumstances. To forget the past is to be doomed to repeat it
