Unfortunately only a small portion of the total income that congressmen, women, and Senators receive comes from their governmental salaries :/

Then they should have no problem making that sacrifice especially if it's only as token to the people.

would never happen and for a surface level good reason; it's literally a waste of time. A few hundred mil for a around 2k people is nothing in the budget of trillions for 370 million people+.
